Waterfall
Låtefossen or Låtefoss is a waterfall located in the municipality of Odda in Hordaland County, Norway. The 165m tall waterfall is unique and thus it is a well-known tourist attraction in the area. It is special in that it consists of two separate streams flowing down from the lake Lotevatnet, and as they fall, the join together in the middle of the waterfall, just before going under the Norwegian National Road 13, making for a spectacular (and wet) view as one drives over the old, stone, six-arched bridge.

  • Babe, if it's not raining. Parking in front of the falls, the toilets available. Food was closed, but it didn't matter.

  • Nice double waterfall on the way to Tysseldal. Quite cool and cold in the month of May. A lot of noise from the powerful waterfall  more »

  • Wow! What a beautiful waterfall! So cool that two streams come together to form a large waterfall! The arched bridge completes the picture. Photogenic waterfall! There is enough parking spaces. But sometimes a tourbus stops for a couple of minutes which makes it busy for a couple of minutes. But the buses leave soon. Also a gift shop present where you can buy something to drink. Several seating areas available, so you can sit drinking your coffee, while watching and wondering!
  • It's a wonderful waterfall you can reach by car. I recommend to go down to the river to take some pictures so you also see the bridge.
  • Låtefossen is my alltime favorite waterfall in Norway. With an enormous noise the twin fall Låtefossen thunders down from the Lotevatnet. The Låtefossen is 165 meters high ans splits itself in two separate streams. A hundred meters from the Låtefossen, on the other side of the road, the Espelandsfossen thunders down, an undervalued waterfall. Best time to visit is early summer when it not so crowded. For photographers: I liked the pictures at most later in the afternoon. In the morning the Låtefossen is still in the shadow but you will have a fantastic view on the Espelandsfossen on the opposite side.
  • Great water fall. When drive by take some minutes to enjoy the view.
  • My spouse and I took a drive from Stavanger to Tysseldal to hike Trolltunga. While passing to the town of Odda we couldn't resist but to stop in this dramatic waterfall to listen to the sound and enjoy the beautiful drop. We come from sunny Miami which is flat land but we have travelled to many places with beautiful scenery but I must say this was caught my attention there was something special it was just perfect the two drops, the scenery, the temperature and the sound it just beautiful what nature can give us. While in Odda i will recommend you to stop by this beautiful natural site.
