Northern Lights, Norway
(3.2/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Book a tour or venture out on your own to see the famed Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as Northern Lights. The Norwegian cities of Tromso and Kirkenes provide good locations to see this natural phenomenon. Rent a car and drive yourself, take an organized Aurora chasing tour, or travel via a Hurtigruten vessel--the coastal ferry service in Norway. The ferry service operates 13 ships year-round and offers full-service excursions. Try dog sledding, whale watching, or snowmobiling in your down time in the Arctic Circle. Keep in mind that catching the light show is never guaranteed. Dress appropriately for the cold weather. • A round trip with Hurtigruten in november is relaxing, soothing and at the same time energizing. This time I chose MS Find wilderness that I have traveled with several times in the past. I chose this ship of three good reasons: 1. Turn on the deck: one can almost literally walk from Bergen to Kirkenes and back to Bergen by going on promenadedekket. Each round is 250 metres away and I have ridden many miles while I have heard on the radio and nydt the views and nature that is constantly shifting. 2. Swimming pool and Studio at 7-deck. Here one can in the snow and cold in heated saltwater bobbing pool and in even hotter Jacuzzi before completing it all in the sauna. 3. all the cabins on MS Find wilderness keeps very good standard, and travel alone so I did, one has the good for a reasonable price. But most of the time you're not in the stateroom, so oppragdering to suite will become meaningless. The food is straightforward, and especially the dinners. I was, however, very disappointed with the food that was served for lunch: warm the Court held consistently under a temperature of 40 degrees would I believe. The food was not much warmer than body temperature. This seems both unsanitary and udelikat. This is an unnecessary "Miss". There is a separate menu-restaurang on board, at 7. deck. This was excellent and the food that was served was very tasteful and nicely city was devastated by. The waiter recommended the wine for each dish and made it all to an experience the two evenings I ate in the rank. The price of a glass of wine at this restaurants status step while I travelled: the price of a glass of wine increased by approximately 100.0-pr glass from northbound to southbound trip. Fully incomprehensible, and an effective way to reduce the privileges of restoration on the attraksjons level. The two evenings I ate, it was only 1-3 guests besides me. And fewer there will be well with such prices. I have travelled with Hurtigruten more than 10 times before. I get back. The next time it will be MS Lofoten.
