  • Very interesting Museum, entirely dedicated to cod fishing and life that revolves around this world. Shame about the timetable (opens at 11 am and closes at 4 pm), on the other hand the typical Norwegian museums; make requests later or hasty. We are greeted by the friendly caretaker/Cicero Steinar Larsen, passionate lover of this world and talented polyglot; takes us on an eye-catching visit. The Museum, housed in a former warehouse of the fish follows the stockfish production process: from the arrival of the fish after fishing at sea to the product ready to be shipped to markets. In the upper floor, in a small room, you can see a documentary in French and English subtitles that in less than half an hour show so extraordinary the lives of cod fishing in these waters in the short tumultuioso period of transition of shoals of cod.

  • An interesting museum that tells about the fishing of cod. As it has evolved and is now. I captured this museum already under closure, but even a cursory was very interesting.

  • Very good and interesting visit. The owner is very friendly and open to answer all the questions. Very cheap and much better than viking museum in Borg... I totally recommend to visit.
  • A really interesting place when one can lear almost everything on the stockfish. The museum keeper is really friendly and it is really interesting to talk with him. He speaks several languages so the communication is quite easy. Great place i enjoyed
  • Really nice museum in the old town of Å. The story behind the stock fish itself is quite interesting and the location is impressive.
  • Very nice, if you made it to came here in Å it really deserve a visit
  • Closed in March
  • Can be described in two words-severe and beautiful. The scenes recalled the landscape of Mordor from "Lord of the rings". The museum itself, rather than the Museum shop where you can buy all sorts of seafood. For the first time in my life I tasted jerky China. It is black in color and resembles beef.
