Canyon Lookout
View overhanging rock against the background of snow-capped peaks and ships floating across the fjord at Flydalsjuvet, a spacious two-deck observation platform at Geirangerfjord. After a descent of 150 m (492 ft) down from a parking area, you will reach this timber platform with a visitor's information area. Here you can take a seat in a metal chair on the clifftop or get out your cameras, however, be careful with selfies and walking backwards. Put Flydalsjuvet at the forefront of your travel plans using our Geiranger tour planner.

  • Anybody who has seen pictures from Geiranger, certainly remember the shots of daredevil people dangling their feet from the cliff at Flydalsjuvet. The place was not readily accessible when we visited,...  more »
  • Nice fjord view. Make sure to go on a clear day. Two parking lots for plenty of parking. We could not find the famous picture spot, but we still got some great pictures.  more »
  • Good place to take 15-minute brake when travelling from the high viewpoint at Dalsnibba towards the Geiranger fjord. Visited end of June before noon, and seat was free to enjoin the view.  more »

  • One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
  • Good view at the geiranger fjord, very worth to stop at when you are driving to Dalsnibba Viewpoint.
  • Great view of the Geirangerfjord, well worth a stop on the trip to or from Geiranger.
  • One of the best places to get an overall view of Geirangerfjord. Highly recommended. Overall I enjoyed this viewpoint more than the Ornesvingen viewpoint because of its more natural view.
  • Most beautiful place on earth even in rainy weather.
