Waterfall
At Voringsfossen, one of Norway's best-known waterfalls, view rushing water tumbling from a height of 182 m (597 ft). Find a spot to pull off Highway 7, the road that connects Oslo with Bergen, and follow the path that leads to the base of the waterfall. For a view from above, park outside the Fosslie Hotel (for a fee) and walk to the vantage point as you observe the deep canyon and forested mountains that surround the falls. You'll find multiple areas for hiking and picnicking nearby. Work out when and for how long to visit Voringsfossen and other Eidfjord attractions using our handy Eidfjord travel itinerary maker.

  • Impressive 180 meter waterfall, best view was from the platform nearby the hotel, away from the tour bus on the other side of the valley. Will give you the best view on the waterfall across the valley...  more »

  • A beautiful waterfall !!! Definitely worth a visit!!! Especially to approach him through the back (through the hotel Fossli). Then you see at least the entire waterfall. When we were there, the railings were renewed for safety. Awesome view which takes your breath away! Also very cool that you can look through the whole valley, without there being cultivated.
  • It´s probably the most spectacular waterfall in Norway. Nevertheless, the surroundings are rather unsafe, there are many ways to get closer to the waterfall, but some some of them are quite dangerous. Since the access to the waterfall from the R7 is very easy, this site is definitely recommended.
  • Without a doubt the most famous waterfall in Norway and one of the main tourist attractions of Norway. There is a big parking along the R7 and it is a short walk to the several viewpoints on the Voringfossen. Actually there are two waterfalls next to each other: Vøringsfossen and Tyssvikjofossen. If you want, you will also have a great view from the Fossli hotel at the top of the waterfall. You walk or take the car. For people who like a good hike, you can also walk in the canyon up to the bottom of the waterfall. A walk starts When driving back to Eidfjord, just before the tunnel. There is a parking. First walk further back over the bikeroad until you see a path going down.
  • We come from the mounting and start to climbing down and suddenly this wonderful place open for us. So magic and wonderful!!
  • Awesome sight to see. Still has its natural, but unsafe surroundings. Watch your step or nature will have you.
