Saltstraumen, Bodo
(4.4/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Saltstraumen represents a narrow strait with the strongest tidal current in the world, which makes it popular among divers and anglers. The current produces maelstroms and whirlpools up to 10 m (33 ft) in diameter and 5 m (16 ft) deep. Walk up to the bridge to see the foaming stream from above, or descend to the waterfront to view it up close. The water swarms with various species of fish like cod, halibut, and coalfish, the regional specialty. You can fish from the bridge, the shore, or a boat. • Definitely worth checking out. Can be windy and cold, but great to walk down and experience the maelstroms.
  • You have to see this one is nearby. The world's largest maelstrom is a view.. To see the boats run there, is when you see how strong this feed is. .. Is a must see ...

  • Due to the current generating the tides, boats are not permitted when they want to, if not at the time should be. It's nice to see the wait and after the maneuver with intention. A very interesting natural phenomenon

  • Who is in the area should take a little trip to the strongest tidal current in the world. You will observe here various vortex at high tide. Through our schedule, we came to the tide, but even then we were able to observe some strudel.
