Ulriken, Bergen

(4.5/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Rising imposingly above Bergen, Ulriken stands as the highest of the seven mountains ringing the city. Make your way to the top, 643 m (2,110 ft) above sea level, for a sweeping view over the city, its harbor, and the surrounding mountains. Ascend via the network of rugged mountain trails or by taking the cable car that runs from the city center to the peak. Alternatively, hop aboard a shuttle bus from Bergen, which departs from the city's tourist information office. Once you arrive at the top, take advantage of the free telescopes to get a closer view of the landscape. • Apparently the inhabitants of Bergen common used to say: You haven't really been in Bergen until you've been up Mount Ulriken! -and they are absolutely right. A magical place worth visit, as far as possible on foot for less efficient gondola. The view from the platform is breathtaking, and the places on the great panoramic views is plenty.

  • Another great viewing point over Bergen, this more of a mountain top view and therefore a lot more dramatic than using the funicular in Bergen town centre. Stunning views and the cable car is also ver...  more »
  • Esque me not vallais in winter to bergen :( It because you will find almost all closed museums, the cable car from the mount ulriken closed, only was open the hanseatrico Museum, that if payment already not entering with bergen card, coincidence? There will stop it. That if if you go in summer like you a lot like us that we have already gone 3 treves is the first in winter and will be last, since everything is face to face to the winter veraano nothing or almost nothing, ahh and another thing to take into account the single goes to the 9.00 and hides the 15.00 , but that doesn't make the Norwegian cualpa Resumiento Norway in summer if in winter not!!!

  • Excellent hike in the Bergen area. There's a extreme path that is almost vertical the entire time or am easier path which is more gradual. Some stunning views from the top if clear. Also a small Workout area at the top with things like pull up Bars and Dip Bars.
  • A must do when you are visiting Bergen, it gives you a really nice and broad view over the city, an overall pretty cool experience. We went for a pick nick on top of Mount Ulriken. It sure is a lot better than just watching television ;-)
  • Clothes were nice, but pricy, and I was after a fridge magnet as a souvenir, which they didn't have. Staff is lovely and cheerful though.
  • Nothing better than stopping by Ulrike to buy ice cream while running over vidden or 7fjellsturen a warm summers day!
  • Simply wonderful view, and great hiking
