  • This was a very good trip by boat From opppsite the fish market. The Captain was an ex-navy sailor - grandfather making a living in the summer. The boat itself was nice - more of a small launch/ old y...  more »
  • Very modern, newly restored, what nearly make it loose charm. The interactive displays and little "Games" are even quite funny for adults. We had a kind of brunch there and it was very nice. If it act...  more »
  • Interactive Museum offers a lot of activities for both the younger arrivals as well as for adults. It is worth taking the time to view two films presented in exhibitions. As in the whole of Norway, so here too, great importance attaches to the ecology. Note the historic building in which the Museum. Employees are proud of their city, very friendly and helpful.

  • Interesting quick ture in the city center, which will reveal the fishing roots of the local community in under 1 hour. Inexpensive interesting and provides you with a quiche summarized taste of the local history. Great place to hide from the rains as Bergen is Europe capital of rain making London looks like a nice sunny place.
  • This is a beautiful museum in Bergen and I highly recommend stopping by. The buildings the museum is set in are extraordinary, and the exhibitions are all very well curated, informative and entertaining. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly. A Bergen's highlight.
  • We spent three very enjoyable hours learning so much about the sea, fishing and the people who risk their lives working at sea. There was a variety of hand on activities and very formative film to see. Displays were first rate. Can you please print an English book about the museum, elaborating on the information we learned, I would love to buy it. The museum is suitable for all ages.
  • Fantastic interactive exhibits. Definitely designed to appeal to younger visitors but still accessible and entertaining for adults. Most exhibit panels are bilingual.
  • This is an excellent museum especially if you're bringing kids since they have some really fun activities to occupy time and pique their interests on the fishery industries of Norway. Learn about the olden days of how the fishing industry has changed to adapt to modern technologies and climate of sustainable fishery.

Where to stay in Bergen

As a major Norwegian city, Bergen offers accommodations--and just about everything else--at a high price. Try to stay in the picturesque Bryggen wharf area near the fish market, or in the city center. If you’re looking for lively nightlife, check out rooms close to the city’s university. To find less-expensive lodging, search for hostels in the city center and campsites just out of town. Alternatively, live like a local by staying in a small guesthouse.
