  • When you visit the Hanseatic quai you suddenly will go back all the way to the Middle Ages. The Hanse originated in Northern Germany, an agglomeration of the major cities they were, with the function ...  more »
  • Even if the Museum with the Bergen card grants only a discount instead of free admission, so worth every penny for that. We were greeted by the shop assistant and then you could enter even the old bars. It is kept extra cool to create an atmosphere like the time and everywhere is to hear a hint of salt cod. In the first room there is to much to read and you can do it in 4 languages. The translations that are nearly perfect, and spachlich excellently written are truly remarkable. After entering the old rooms and increasingly get a sense of how life must have been like. There are the bedrooms or the small offices, now it is really impressive and informative. When we were there, the Schoetstuen had opened only on Sundays. We were allowed inside but also still two days later with our ticket, and there's a lot again, to see how the kitchen. A really nice walking tour, is also not to overload of information.

  • A small museum detailing the Hanseatic League in Bergen and the Norwegian stockfish industry. Yes it is dark inside and cold but that is what it would have been like. It added to the authenticity. The...  more »

  • lovely piece of building that still capture the essence of history of Bergen. we were lucky enough to have a guide explaining the interesting stories around the intricate details of the building. if you have the chance, do ask for a guide or join a guided tour, it offers much more than the plain displays of the content.
  • Important and educational historic location to visit if you get the opportunity. Very informative tour by a knowledgeable guide.
  • Intersting place to visit. Cold in the winter.
  • Best museum in Bergen, worst museum in Europe. Don't pay 16 Euro for this bit while paying 12 Euro for Louvre. I know everything is comparably very expensive but this overrated museum shouldn't be that expensive.
  • Great museum. Very interesting and all info is translated in English.
