Where to stay in Bergen

As a major Norwegian city, Bergen offers accommodations--and just about everything else--at a high price. Try to stay in the picturesque Bryggen wharf area near the fish market, or in the city center. If you’re looking for lively nightlife, check out rooms close to the city’s university. To find less-expensive lodging, search for hostels in the city center and campsites just out of town. Alternatively, live like a local by staying in a small guesthouse.

  • Really good collection of ship models and artefacts. Well presented selection of exhibits.
  • It's an old-school museum that offers a nice range of items and exhibitions from maritime history. They have an amazing viking ship replica that is worth a visit. Good for school visits.
  • Ok if you like models of ships, but not a lot else there. The staff were very helpful though
