  • You'll get there easily with the hop on-hop off bus, which can bring you to the mountain Aksla. Good weather is fine for this location, because, although you have some where to stay in can is there not a whole lot to see and the museum is an open air museum. Before you're going to pay you'll pass a large boathouse that is certainly worth a visit. Here are old ships that were used for fishing. The museum possesses a large number of old houses formerly known as residential homes, schools, and storage were used. It is an incredibly beautiful place, around a large lake (where in the summer also on hazards is) and in a very natural environment. I was lucky that the weather was beautiful and I've had quiet looked around. I was there an hour and a half sweet. Bring good walking shoes: the paths sometimes go up and unnoticed to make quite a few meters. There is a restaurant where you can drink coffee with some cake. In the summer you can with one of the boats to sail a bit.

  • I've been to many museums and always look for accuracy in items places with "period portrayal" for example; when displaying a home that dates more than a hundred years ago the furniture and items inside should come as close to matching as possible. The inside portion was a bit choppy and didn't flow chronologically. I would have loved to see more english translation so that I could learn more of what've was seeing as my Norwegian is not as fluent as needed and my google translate took a long time to reload. However, it was very cool to wander through the homes and imagine life happening in simpler times and the Viking boat replicas were spot on!
  • Place for young and old, big and small, boys and men. A place where everyone can have fun
  • A beautiful place to walk around with beautiful medieval buildings with a beautiful water often creating mirror images, the national horses walking about and ducks and swans. Also if you want to pay to enter buildings you can see a bit more if medieval lifestyles and boats from the Viking period. A very beautiful church as well in the area.
  • Recommended for everyone. Good place for your afternoon walk. The museum is a great place to learn about Norwegian viking history.
  • Nice! If you love houses with grass on top-come visit, take some pictures and save yr money - you can walk there for free, only you want to get inside the houses - you should buy ticket.
