Create an itinerary including Obyan Beach
A secluded stretch of coastline on the island's southern tip, Obyan Beach offers a blend of history and classic fun-in-the-sun. You'll spot a World War II bunker from the parking lot, and if you delve a little farther into the grove of coconut trees, you'll find several latte stones built by indigenous Chamorro people and dating as far back as 1500 BCE. Bring your snorkeling gear to make the most of the beach's clear waters. By using our Saipan trip maker tool, you can arrange your visit to Obyan Beach and other attractions in Saipan.

  • Great for picnic, swimming, snorkeling, and strolling on the beach. Beach has lots of shade to take a nap. Parking is ample.

  • I visited this gem for the first time in at least 25 years and, I have to say, it's even more beautiful than I remember it! We BBQd with the family and it was great to get sand between our toes...

  • The area around Obyan Beach is very pretty, but when you think of going to the beach keep an open mind. Beach is mostly dried coral and not sand. Water is very very shallow and we did not find any.....  more

  • Great beach for bonfires, sunsets, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
  • Awesome place for family picnic, rod and reel fishing, diving and just to chill.
  • Perhaps the best beach for snorkeling. Security guard on duty until 5 pm (to watch over your car). No life guards on duty. The swimming area is limited by the reef (only locals and divers go beyond the reef, with special gear). You can swim on top of corals, the water depth always allows a 10 year old child to stand on the floor. Snorkeling on this beach, you can perhaps see most of the fish that you can see in Saipan (unless you are a diver). Check the tides chat before you go - in low tide it's almost impossible to swim, you'll hit the corals with you knees and belly. Another place for snorkeling to try is Wing Beach - a much smaller area, though.
  • Obyan (pronounced Ob zan) is a lovely beach. Great place to spend the day with family and friends.
  • Beautiful! Great place for picnic.
