Chollima Statue, Pyongyang

(2.3/5 based on 20+ reviews on the web)
Chollima Statue reminds residents of the fast development of the country. The monument shows a horse, a man, and a woman riding it. The couple symbolize the working class, who worked at the "Chollima speed." The horse, believed to have travelled 400 km (about 250 mi) a day, stands for the Chollima movement, which encouraged fast economic development. Built as a gift to Kim II-sung, the site also boasts beautiful greenery surrounding the site, which provides for a pleasant stroll to enjoy the landscape. • For them the statue a symbol of the country, is a beautiful statue but seen from a distance, there is nothing particularly nice.

  • This is a symbolic sculpture symbolizing a mythical horse, capable of tysiącmilowych. In today's Korea it is a symbol of the effort of the nation, which, under the enlightened leadership of the Kimów dynasty, to defeat any obstacle and jumpstart will build socialism (according to the words of guides.)

  • Everything in DPRK has to be grand and this is yet another massive statue on a grand scale. This one at least with considerable artistic appeal.  more »
