Observe colonial and contemporary art in a complex of five colonial-era buildings connected together at Museo de Arte Fundacion Ortiz-Gurdian. The art collection consists mostly of Latin American art, though some sculptures and paintings in the collection were created by European artists. Hire an English-speaking guide to take you through the exhibits and talk you through the pieces and the artists’ stories. The standing collection is impressive on its own, but the museum also changes out exhibits regularly. • The buildings are very beautiful. Exposed, permanent and temporary collections are interesting. But the conditions of exposure could quickly undermine certain works. The scenography of the exhibition could also be modernized.

  • This museum really expanded my understanding of Nicaragua. Anyone who appreciates modern art will appreciate the quality, diversity and creativity of the works displayed here. The buildings is gorgeous as well. I wasn't expecting this experience when I went here. I HIGHLY recommend it.
  • Brilliant art gallery in beautiful setting, do visit, I think you will love it, I did. I went with no expectations as I have no knowledge of Central American artists and was completely blown away by how fantastic some of the work was.
  • If you like modern art it's a great place. I'm not that much into it and the museum is not offering much to get into it. So it was a kind of boring for me. If you like modern art it's for sure a great place.
  • Must see if you want to have an overview about central american art - free entry on Sunday!
  • An excellent museum with a very comprehensive collection. A very good place to visit with family or friends interested in art.
