Visit Catedral de la Asunción, the largest cathedral in Central America. A World Heritage Site, the imposing 18th-century cathedral was the first Catholic diocese in Nicaragua. Step inside to see the luminous interior, featuring notable artworks such as a Flemish altarpiece and national artist Antonio Sarria's depiction of the stations of the cross. Some prominent nationals are laid to rest here, including poet Ruben Dario. Climb to the roof for panoramic views of the scenic city surroundings. • It is one of the largest cathedrals of Latin America, I think that it is the third. The Cathedral is in very good condition, is a good choice not to mention that the tomb of Darius Rubén is located within the same. I think everyone who visit Leon should go to this site.
