Laguna Charco Verde, Isla de Ometepe

(4.1/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Verdant nature trails with looming trees, lovely dark-sanded beaches, and excellent swimming conditions await at Laguna Charco Verde. Access the lush greenery here via a short walking trail, and then enjoy swimming in the calm waters. Note that while the water appears murky, this is not due to lack of sanitation but rather the sediments from the bottom of the lake mixing with the water. Local legend tells of an ancient, lanky witch called Chico Largo, who occasionally appears in the lake to go fishing. • Very nice walk, panorama varied, seen on the volcano Maderas and design. Beautiful course to do, bird songs, nice trees, Council take a hat and water, there is not a lot of shade...

  • A little disappointed because I had read great reviews about the place. I still looked great but I've seen no monkey... the vegetation was quite dry see grilled because of the Sun, but it's the dry season who wants it. I do not advise to go there at this time of year mid March. The beach is nice for a picnic. Entry $ 5 or 145 NIO.
