Specialty Museum Museum
Survey a vast collection of pre-Columbian ceramics dating back thousands of years at Mi Museo. The museum's collection includes around 15,000 pieces of artisanal handicrafts--some from as far back as 2000 BCE; displays feature historical or biographical information in both English and Spanish. The restored colonial building housing the museum dates back to 1868. Take an English-speaking guide to illuminate your visit and put the ceramics in context. • What might have been an institution worthy of one's support is yet another awful example of an organization which has embraced discrimination in all its ugly forms by charging those of foreign origin unconscionably high entry fees. Even students are not spared the despicable treatment; I went with some fellow student colleagues and they wouldn't dare treat us equally and fairly. I and a friend with "whiter" skin were subjected to outrageous questioning regarding our national origin and sought to be slapped with entrance fees over 1,500% higher than those of our colleagues. Such outrageousness cannot be condoned.
