Mi Museo, Granada

#2 of 7 in Museums in Granada
Survey a vast collection of pre-Columbian ceramics dating back thousands of years at Mi Museo. The museum's collection includes around 15,000 pieces of artisanal handicrafts--some from as far back as 2000 BCE; displays feature historical or biographical information in both English and Spanish. The restored colonial building housing the museum dates back to 1868. Take an English-speaking guide to illuminate your visit and put the ceramics in context. Put Mi Museo into our Granada driving holiday planning site and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Nicaragua who is free admission, but to foreigners across the Board collects $5 (coupon discount, $ 3). So, you will slowly see carefully. Rare in Nicaragua also attract interested in proper way so much without any knowledge of archaeology. This description more than archaeological museum located in the San Francisco church corner, earnest, and funny.

  • To mention a place full of a lot of history, such as my Museum, is to return to the past of our origins. With a little bit of European culture, their owners with last name Collins thought a little of ...  more »
  • For lovers of history and anthropology, the stop to my Museum is first-rate. The house occupied by the Museum is impressive. A clear example of the stately Granada. Three perfectly manicured courtyards, and a must see collection of funeral urns which are unique in their genre. Ana our guide was very special and we gave great detail. It shows that he likes his job and is proud of their ancestry and history. Handles the information very well and was super friendly. I congratulate you for such an excellent Museum and urge all visitors to Nicaragua that pass by my Museum and ask about funeral urns. There is still one AWE to learn that as ancient ritual, the body was placed in a vase in the form of womb as a way to return to the maternal origin. I've never seen anything as beautiful. You have to see it. Thanks Anna for being so kind to me and my mother. Thanks from Costa Rica.

  • What might have been an institution worthy of one's support is yet another awful example of an organization which has embraced discrimination in all its ugly forms by charging those of foreign origin unconscionably high entry fees. Even students are not spared the despicable treatment; I went with some fellow student colleagues and they wouldn't dare treat us equally and fairly. I and a friend with "whiter" skin were subjected to outrageous questioning regarding our national origin and sought to be slapped with entrance fees over 1,500% higher than those of our colleagues. Such outrageousness cannot be condoned.
  • Great experience!
  • Very historical Museum, and the House a national heritage. Very interesting!
