Catedral de Granada, Granada
(4.5/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Visit one of the city's landmarks at Catedral de Granada, a neoclassical church that dominates the urban skyline. The 1972 edifice features a striking red and yellow facade, along with two domed towers and bell tower. Walking through the church's five altars, and look for the sacred image of the Virgen de la Concepción, saved from destruction by fire in 1856. Also, pay attention to the main altar's statue of Mary surrounded by silver, and backed by blue mosaic tiles. Climb the bell tower to enjoy views of the city, the lake, and the volcano in the distance. • During our visit, the Church was renovated. Realistic printing were made and the entire Church was painted. If only for the prints worth a visit.

  • It is certainly a beautiful church in neoclassical style, well preserved and which is the postcard of Granada. Its location, its yellow and red color, make it an essential monument of this city, being true to its grandeur and elegance outside, do not correspond to such a great inner beauty. Is the typical beautiful on the outside and normal on the inside. In reality its interior makes this a common Church Cathedral. There is the possibility to upload to one of the towers and then get a panoramic view of the beautiful city of Granada, where we can enjoy a higher level their colonial architecture. Anyway, the Cathedral of Granada, by its centrality and its photogenic is a must-see place.

  • The outside was nice. The Interior was under "construction", they are trying to paint murals on the ceiling. Those already made are very pretty. Go up to the Bell Tower is the view of the city. Attention, many markets and very narrow.

  • Brilliant colors and architecture. Granada is one of the oldest colonial cities of Central America, this building and others around the city will confirm it.
  • My experiences in Granada, Nicaragua were some of the best moments of my life. This beautiful, little colonial town and the people in it reminded me what it's like to be alive. Definitely going again someday!
  • Spectacular place! At night, this cathedral and it´s surroundings light up to a very romantic atmosphere. Granada is magical and gorgeous.
  • Beautiful yellow and red Cathedral. Outside is in great condition.
  • Very nice colonial architecture.
