  • very good park however you have to have a parent with you if you are under 14 which is ridiculous in my opinion.  more »
  • Week day ride. No crowds, out amongst nature. Variety of tracks from easy to hard. Great workout. Pleasant surroundings. I've been out several times. Not so great in summer as the ground is sand and g...  more »
  • The end of our four-week MTB tour, we visited the Woodhill mountain bike park together with our guide. This is very well attended by locals, visitors are distributed very well. No crowds on the slopes. The trails are different difficult quite easy even for children until about S2 (STS scale), there may be even more difficult. The beauty is that you can go up on single trails. No Shuttle service. Most of the trails can be found in wooded area and offers good protection in bad weather. According to our guide, one of the few bike parks which is easily passable in the New Zealand winter.

  • The only cross country mountain bike park in Auckland. The team work hard to keep trails open despite nature playing havoc at times. I've had an annual pass for years. There are two issues First: the easy, beginner trails have gone and it takes a bit of fitness and experience to get to the easiest trails. Real beginners are better off at Totara Park or Massey University. Not the fault of the bike park. Secondly: dogs are no longer allowed in the weekend. There are few places in Auckland where you can give an energetic dog a really good workout. My dog will stalk me if he thinks I'm getting ready to go to Woodhill and it's a real loss for the dog owning community.
  • Tracks are well laid out and offer a good challenge for any level of experience, however some additional signposting would have made navigation a lot easier. Tourists seeking picturesque New Zealand views won't find them here, it's just a pine plantation. Big let down was the quality of the hire bikes, they've managed to take good quality frames (Scott Scales mostly) and turn them into crap. Both brakes barely worked whilst squealing loudly, odd tyres front to back and no front derailleur cable which when I asked was apparently removed "for ease of maintenance", bordering on unacceptably dangerous and made enjoying the trails very difficult.
  • Went for my first ride out there today. Amazing services, took a shuttle service from the city and hired a bike. Since im from Aus. Trails were well maintained and sign posted, including a few techy DH sections. Will be going back again.
  • Amazing experience! Some trails for beginners (me) and a lot of more challenging tracks. Beautiful views from the top.
  • A really good for mountain biking but not many tracks if you are looking for a free ride track. However, they have a funny dirt jump track (advance level).
