  • We stopped here by chance on a bike ride on the way to Hot Water Beach. We ate pizza and salad and a very delicious almond and pear tart. Lovely view from our outdoor table across the vines to Mercury...  more »
  • Winery located above of Cook's Bay, very tidy and neat. By chance after a beach stay a stop inserted (approx. 14:00). Views good, have been more spectacular sat in New Zealand but (Vista is but definitely not a shortcoming!). For two a Coromandel platter for about 40 NZD eaten, very diverse, for an afternoon snack is more than sufficient, can as a later dessert lunch also go through. For a beer round of 4 local wines two tested, decent wines, particularly the Chardonnay. We both found that the Chutney "attacked the aroma of the wines" and brought a pepper aroma; There, so some caution is advised. A bottle of our favorite took 38 NZD, unfortunately you can bring a carton, not to Europe. We are not wine connoisseurs, but to spend a few pleasant hours in a very nice atmosphere, the Mercury Bay Estate in any case is worth a detour.
