  • My partner and I were camping at Ohiwa Beach, and decided we wanted a soak in one of Awakeri's private spas. We called to book, and on offering a contact phone number, were told that they only needed a name. It was a 45min drive to the pools, but a soak was just what we needed, so we thought it was worth the trip. On arriving at the springs we gave our name at the reception, only to have the young girl grimace, and walk away to consult with an older lady. The older lady bluntly said that there was no spa for us, that all private spas had been cancelled due to some sort of incident that resulted in them running out of water. There was no apology, and even after I'd told her that we'd driven 45min to get there, she just said "well we didn't know you were from out of town". A complete waste of a 120km round trip. I would have been significantly less disgruntled if I had received some sort of apology, and felt that they would adapt their booking process to take phone numbers in the future.
  • Love this hot spring, great prices and the water is perfect!
  • Great place to relax with family could do with a freshen up, warm showers and TV.
  • Partner and I went for a private spa for 1hour $30. Was nice outside the spa, private, newly renovated decking etc, very dated and dirty inside the spa, all it needed was a good clean with a high pressured hose and a lick of paint to improve it so much. Come on guys, spend some money on it inside like you did on the outside! can't say we would come back for a spa. Main pool is lovely, dated but nice. The whole place just feels like it hasn't had any money spent on it for a long time. A real shame because it has so much potential.
  • Our unit was very very cold the door from the shower toilet would not shut, you promise wifi would not reach our unit . there was mould on the ceiling of the bedroom and also on the curtains, cobwebs in the toilet, used the shower and the tap fell off. The oven has nothing to let you cook in it and all day and night the seeds off the trees fells on the roof and sounded like explosions for the prices you charge you need to really get your act together I would never consider. Not impressed when I could have gone to Rotorua Cheaper and had a real break . it is just a complete rip of f get your act together or you will be closed
