Ski Area
There's room for everyone at Whakapapa Ski Area, New Zealand's largest ski area. Beginners have the run of their own valley, complete with a cafe, rental complex, and ski school meeting area--this gives you the chance to learn without faster, more confident skiers distracting you. Experienced snow-lovers will also find plenty here: with 30 intermediate trails and 24 black-diamond runs, the complex provides a challenge for all visitors, regardless of skill level. A wealth of accommodations and activities, surrounded by dramatic mountainous landscape, make this a great place to stay even when taking a day off from the slopes.
