  • We took our grandkids and were really surprised at the range of activities. If we had planned better we would have taken a picnic lunch and spent longer.
  • We had a great time with our toddler. So many different animals, cute baby ones (this is probably dependent on the time of year...) and a fun tractor ride. Should allow for at least a few hours. There...  more »
  • Quite a distant yet we enjoyed our stay here. Be sure to allot at least 3 hours for you to enjoy the place. A lot of peacock and peahen roaming around here. You will surely enjoy it here.

  • Staglands is the best "petting zoo" I've ever been to. It's like a really good cross between Wellington Zoo and Zealandia minus the African animals. The thing I love most about staglands is that even though the bulk of the animals are farm animals, they are mostly free range in a very natural environment. There is so much natural NZ, and native birds that I am happy to pay money to go at least once a year to visit with my kids. I just love it! Also has a nice cafe, and picnic areas! Great way to spend a day with family or friends!
  • Awesome nature park.. try to find better in NZ it doesnt exist the way this place has been built and respected.
  • Great place to take the kids. Our kids 3 & 5 years love it. Very well laid out and maintained. The cafe also has some good options. Been more than 5 times and will definitely return in the future.
  • The drive out here, either from Upper Hutt or Waikanae, is on a winding road but the destination is worth it - It is so perfect to chillax to, either in the cafe or with a picnic when taking in the animal sights and sounds. Make sure you allow enough time to fully wander round as this is best experienced when you aren't clock watching ;-)
