  • These are normal steps taking you to a higher level. Nothing special and not worth making an effort to see. Great statue at the bottom. You may pass them on the way to the cable car.  more »

  • I visited Plimmer steps medical centre yesterday. The nurse who took my blood sample couldn't find my vein after sticking the needle into my arm, she wiggled and poked around searching for it. My arm was left bruised and sore. I didn't want to complain, because she was caring and her attitude was good, just incompetent. This morning on my way to work, I got a call from another nurse from the medical centre saying the nurse yesterday used the wrong colored lid on the blood sample, so they need to take my blood again. And I was asked to remember that it has to be a pink lid the next time. I called back at a later time to make another appointment. I asked for the name of the nurse who I saw yesterday when I spoke to the receptionist (Heather) on the phone, so I can try my luck with some other nurse this time. After I explained to her about what has happened, she was still reluctant to find out for me and said this is perfectly normal and it happens all the time. I wasn't sure if she was referring to the bruised and sore part or the messing up the lid part, but I insisted to know the name of the nurse before I book for my next appointment. So she said she will see what she can do and call me back. I am still waiting for her call ( I hope I can still edit after I submitted this review). Her attitude was terrible!! Even though I can compromise with the incompetent nurse for the location of this medical centre, I couldn't stand on her attitude. She is really letting the business down. I hope the owners do look into this to make patients' experience better at the front line. I googled for other reviews online to see if I was just being unlucky and found similar reviews under their previous trade name (used to be called plimmer steps surgery). To be fair, my GP Claire Jackson is absolutely brilliant with active and gentle approach, great attitude, and super informative.
