Frank Kitts Park, Wellington

4.1
#12 of 54 in Parks in Wellington
Go local at Frank Kitts Park, where you can listen to talented buskers, let the kids play, and relax along with other Wellingtonians. The park, named after the city's longest-serving mayor Frank Kitt, represents one of the first areas of the waterfront to be developed back in the late 1980s. Its design was heavily influenced by the Wellington 500 street car race held in the area at the time. The many eateries and cafes close by make it a perfect spot for a snack or meal, while a short walk beside the waterfront will lead you to an art gallery and food market. Our Wellington trip builder app makes visiting Frank Kitts Park and other Wellington attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Big slide. Big deal. Was hoping when the children where in the covered portion of the slide they'd get the full, Willy Wonker Pure Imagination scene effect. Alas, just a regular slide.
