  • Gorgeous beach and was a great spot for a wintry walk. When you arrive, keep driving right to the end of the road so you end up in the main car park. Only mentioning as when you 1st arrive, there are....  more »
  • Beautiful park. Fabulous hiking trails. Lovely white sand beach with great waves. A real out of the way jewel!
  • Tawharanui Regional Park was awesome. Beautiful white dandy beach and lots of walking tracks near by. Not too crowded or touristy which is nice, so don't expect shops and cafes, just go and relax.
  • Anchor Bay is an amazing beach to visit. Spent most of Waitangi day there. Beach and water temp is perfect for swimming in with enough surf to boogie board on. Was extremely busy on this public holiday, but not sure if it's like that all the time. Would recommend arriving early to get a good park and a good spot in the sand.
  • This is one of most beautiful beaches around. Also a bird sanctuary with kiwi and other special birds protected here. Easy to get to now with the road being sealed all the way to the predator fence. Leave your dog at home though. Great for a surf when the tide is right.
  • Great regional park. There are lots of bird around. The local beach - Anchor Bay is a great place to visit in the summer with small waves suitable for body surfing. The water is really clear and great for swimming. There is no local cafes etc so remember to bring your own food.
