  • We came right in the morning, because we heard that it is not so good, many people there are. What we can also confirm because if you arrive at the end of the cave, the eye needs a moment until it has got accustomed to a certain darkness and can see the fireflies. Unfortunately, that is disturbed every time when someone new with flashlight. Therefore, you should see that one a time or day caught, where not so much going on. It is an adventure, because wherever you go it is not really signposted. We were with flip flops on the road that goes, but is better probably a firmer footwear, because is quite slippery and muddy. A small path with stones laid out leads two or three times by the small river. Can be reached dry-shod at the end, you can walk by the river but also easier. At the end you have the beautiful experience that the ceiling is full of "Fireflies". It is not the classic Firefly's are more likely worms sitting on the cave wall and lights. Very nice, we have made it before breakfast and were up on a small group alone. Outside there are toilets and a spacious parking lot (lawn)

  • Caves were great, lots of mud, very dark and walking in knee deep water. Nature walk was awesome too
  • 12 km from SH1 well-kept gravelroad is this cave right next to the parking lot. Inside smooth and slippery, so good shoes desired. Rock formations make inside this cave very beautifully. Maybe something less concentrated Worms than in Te Anau, but certainly no less impressive. And not bothersome commercial uitgebaad.
