  • We didn't know it was there and nearly drove past it. It is not that well sign posted as you approach it and we hadn't seen any brochures or advertising for it...just sheer luck that we came across it...  more »
  • Although I think it could be great, it is hard to say with the renovations going on. Kids liked it but the hunt was not well thought out. The police museum in Wellington hit the nail on the head with ...  more »
  • Great Museum that enabled us to pause between Taupo and Wellington. Very well done and very interesting! The involvement of New Zealanders in different wars is well explained as well as conflicts between European and Maori.

  • They have redone the layout of the museum exhibits from when we last visited 3 years ago. We loved it - our 3 school age boys enjoyed it immensley with an activity sheet that helps them discover their way around the museum. They especially loved the kids room at the top of the museum where they are all able to dress up in army gear with replica guns and a sand bag bunker.
  • A lot of information. You could spend hours there. A little bit pricey for the 3 of us, $35.00
  • Upgrade going on at the moment. When finished will be so much nicer than walking out side in the rain to get to entrance. But when inside there is so much to see.
  • Was alright. The tanks outside look cool in the snow
  • Great facility, but make sure you allow time to have a decent look at everything. 1 to 2 hours would allow a good look through.
