  • Hadn't been here for 20 or so years. Displays well done but let down by poor food at the cafe and generally disinterested staff.  more »
  • The wife and I stopped here during a freak blizzard as we were driving south. Was a great stop with lots of history to see. Worth the visit and doesn't take too long to see it all. If your in the area...  more »
  • They have redone the layout of the museum exhibits from when we last visited 3 years ago. We loved it - our 3 school age boys enjoyed it immensley with an activity sheet that helps them discover their way around the museum. They especially loved the kids room at the top of the museum where they are all able to dress up in army gear with replica guns and a sand bag bunker.
  • Wonderful and very informative. We spent a little over 2 hours but could've easily stayed longer. Highly recommend.
  • An incredible place to visit and one that never gets boring. The displays are continually changed and there is always something new to look at. It also has a reference library that is open to the public which can be an absolute life saver to those who are researching things of military nature.
  • I've always loved this place ever since I was a kid but now I've managed to take mine there.
  • Wonderful museum can experience sadness, humour and amazement all in the one visit. What a great tribute to all the New Zealanders affected by the events of war
