This is a fine old suspension bridge in wood and cast iron just off the road from Invercargill to Te Anau. It is a quiet and picturesque stopping place

This is a beautiful spot. The bridge crosses the Waiau River and offers some historical insight into life on the South Island before 1978 when the bridge was decommissioned. Well worth the a short detour off the main drag.
