  • Tolaga wharf is well worth a visit. Good account of past and present right at the entrance. A lovely walk.
  • Impressively large wharf! At 660m this is the longest wharf in New Zealand. Nice to read about the history and walk all the way to the end and back. If you have time, you can jump off the wharf near the end for a swim and climb back up with the ladder. Allow about half an hour for a visit.
  • The historic sites of railway lines and hoist poles used in the not to distant past is clearly a distinctive main point of the wharf, apart from experiencing the great fishing spots you can enjoy the awe inspiring views of sea, land, and towering cliffs.
  • great walk on an historic wharf. views are phenomonal regardless of the weather.
  • Great family fun. Picnic, walk and swim!
