  • We wanted to try these pools to see if there is a benefit from the waters. We think there is. A lot less expensive than the flash mineral pools in Taupo or Rotorua. You can have a swim in the public p...  more »

  • Old-school public pool with heated & treated (chlorinated) pool for adults and a paddling pool for under 5s. There are also private pools with thermal mineral water that can be accessed at extra cost; the fee for a private pool also covers access to the public pools. Behind the pools is a short walk showing an area of geothermal pools, steam vents, and bubbling mud 'volcanoes'. Great for parents with inquisitive kids!
  • Discovered this place years ago. Re-visited not long ago and soaked in the pool for a few hours after a day exploring. Clean and tidy and on my last visit not overly busy (but can see why in the ski season it becomes busy). Book a private pool if the crowds bother you but honestly for the price its well worth it. There is a little track to explore on the outside. Bonus.
  • A lovely place to relax your muscles after a day's hiking in the area. Private pools (fresh geothermally heated water at around 40°C) are essential at $10 for 20 minutes, and worth the wait if you have to. That price includes entry to the large public pool, which is chlorinated and notably cooler at around 36°C. The private pool rooms aren't the most inspiring and I would have loved to see some local sculptures on the walls or something similar to evoke the culture of the area. If my review and photos were helpful for you, please give me a thumbs up 👍🏼 Thanks!
  • This is all you need in a hot pool. Hot warm water and a view.So easy and relaxing you can't beat it. Prices are excellent and not a rip off like Hanmer Springs. The thermal walk afterwards was a highlight and shouldn't be missed.
  • Nice spot. Only mineral pools for private pools. Main pool is chlorinated. Lovely walk around the outside of the pools.
