  • Lovely historic site. Guides are very clued up and give a very good tour.
  • The Elms tells of the historical birth of Tauranga and the surrounding Bay of Plenty, the guides are full of knowledge and interesting facts, so if you want to find out a little bit of history on Tauranga then this is a good place to start.
  • A tour guide will walk you through the mission house and tell of battles and hardships for the Maori and missionaries. The giant trees add to the history and the setting is tucked away from the city above the motorway. A small fee includes access to the chapel and sheds of the era – if you don’t take the tour the grounds are open for photos.
  • It is simply gorgeous...great gardens and history.
  • Neat bit if history, check it out
