Ideal for walkers, McLaren Falls Park contains great spots for fishing, kayaking, barbecues, picnics, and camping. Just a ten-minute drive from the center of Tauranga, these 190 hectares (469 acres) of parkland stretch out beside Lake McLaren. Look for the extensive botanical collection of trees, and hike the short, easy trail to the waterfalls. Free gas barbecues are dotted around the park for the public to use.   • Apart from a cataract that is cute and incredible for summer days, around the Central magnificent landscapes are beautiful and so relaxing. Recommended 100%. A must for Bay of Plenty.

  • we discovered this by accident and must go back for a picnic soon. gorgeous place and so serene and lovely scenery. nice cafe too. 
  • Lovely place to visit all year round. Great place to feed the ducks with children, picnic. go for a quiet place to read a book or to get into some sport or games.
