Adrenalin Forest Bay of Plenty, Tauranga

The Bay of Plenty Times is an intrinsic part of the Bay of Plenty experience. The region's most successful daily newspaper, it covers all aspects of news from local, national and international events to a full round-up of sporting results and a wide range of reader interests.

The first issue of the Bay of Plenty Times was printed on Wednesday, September 4, 1872 and was a four-page tabloid newspaper published twice a week.

The paper had fluctuating fortunes for several years but since 1950, the most dramatic changes have seen new technology speed up the paper's production and improve the quality.

The paper was printed on a series of flat-bed presses until 1955 when the first rotary press was installed. The offset press and first computer were introduced in 1976.

Today, all news and advertising copy are set on computers, and the newspaper is printed by the APN Print division of APN New Zealand Limited on a Goss Community offset press.

The Bay of Plenty Times employs approximately 150 staff including casual and part-time, which makes us one of the largest employers in Tauranga.

There are branch offices situated at Katikati, Te Puke, Waihi and Whangamata.

  • We had a super fun couple of hours. Lots of challenging obstacles over the 6 courses. Great fun being up in the trees with the slight rocking of the platforms in the breeze. There are moments standing...  more »
  • Called in with daughters friends from Uni. Good instructions and safe environment. We were all harnessed and shown safety procedures b4 starting. My 12 year old son required rescuing which was handled...  more »
  • It was pouring rain, but we still had a great time. I really enjoyed how they started off easy, then went harder and harder. You feel extremely safe here!  more »

  • Fabulous set up and staff and great team building activity so much fun testing you physically and mentally
  • Six separate courses to attempt ranging from easy to very challenging, especially the last one. Will definitely do it again once I've regained feeling in my arms🙂
  • Took my three teens here during the holidays and they had a fantastic time - spent the full three hours finishing the course. I was particularly impressed with the safety systems in place and the good training and guidance as it got (a lot) harder. Fantastic value for money.
  • Visited here August 2014 with all my family and can only say it was fantastic. Good challenges ranging from relatively easy to 'full on' scary (for me at 47). Staff were excellent, facilities and equipment good and our three 'children', aged 17, 18 and 20 loved it all. If you want a bit of family fun with an edge this is the place to go.
  • I attempted a stage of the course but was unable to continue as i was to scared i asked the instructer if i could come down and they refused to help me,i sat up there crying for 20mins before they decided to help me down... Extremely disappointed in the instructors not a good experience what so ever!
