  • Thought that we would take a drive down here & was pleasantly surprised. Nice walk through the thermals... easy walk but a little bit uneven in places... had a nice cafe & kids play area at the start/...  more »
  • Landscape appears unchanged since the age of the dinosaurs, with thermals and mud pools surrounding the silica terraces. Well maintained boardwalk, but a lot of steps for those who are less mobile. Fr...  more »
  • Most interesting thermal activity walk but not for persons with mobility issues as some steep walks and uneven ground. Beautiful setting and wonderful staff.  more »

  • I didn't plan It, but we saw a sign for camping. The location was perfect for exploring all of the Taupo area. We ended up staying for 3 nights and getting to know the friendly owners. Our kids loved all the baby hens and other free ranging animals wondering around. I plan to come back to this place.
  • Interesting place... lots of animals to see and feed like rabbits, llamas, goats, chickens and peacocks. The walk is nice to, great scenery and geothermal activity. The track is know know for for prams or elderly though.
  • Stayed here for three nights in a row, primarily due to a broken starter motor of our car. John helped us out with a good mechanic. Luckely the campground isn't bad at all. It's in a small green valley and has lots of pet animals wandering around.
  • Thermal walk is positively not worth it. The walk is not well maintained. You can see better ones for free, elsewhere.
  • It's a lovely campground with lots of animals walking around. I really enjoy the stay here.
