  • I have been to DeBretts a few times now . It's definitely worth a visit if never been before or if you just wants to relax in some mice spas . There are a few pools to choose from and lots of seating ...  more »
  • It was quite a walk down (and up afterwards) from the carpark to the spa area. The spa itself wasn't very big but did have a few different pools outside at various temperatures. There was a map at the...  more »
  • We had the largest cottages since we were 7... Beautiful place... We also had a great time in the thermal pool in the late evening... very relaxing we would stay there again!

  • Definitely recommend getting a massage. We got a couples "Fassage", and weren't charged extra for use of the couples room. So you can get a joint massage for the price of whatever massages you pick out. (And the massages were AMAZING). Also, you get to soak in the hot pools for free with th purchase of a massage, and they have a good number of private rooms/pools that are first come first serve. Very nice place and would love to go again if we come back to Taupo!
  • Absolutely fantastic camping and pool experience. Definitely one of the easiest and most convenient campsites I have stayed on anywhere in the world. Staff are super accomodating. Campsites are generally quite generous, able to handle more than one large tent. the Camp Kitchen is superbly equipped with urns, fridges, freezers, barbecues, chilled filtered water, even sets of knives and forks and plates should you have forgotten yours. The unisex bathrooms are beautifully finished and very well set up for privacy. The pools are a delight, my kids managed to run up and down the stairs for the slides for 11 straight hours...
  • This resort claims 5 stars but it couldn't be further from that. We stayed in a "motel" room, which was very dated and somewhat dirty. There were spiders well established in all corners of the room, which showed nobody had cleaned there in a while. The bathroom was also rather odd: the mirror was to the side of the sink rather than in front of it, the only hangers to be found anywhere were also in the bathroom. Overall the furniture was old and rather unpleasant. Housekeeping changed our towels but didn't make the beds. The only plus was that the staff were friendly and helpful. However, I would not recommend staying here.
  • Me and my partner stayed at DeBretts for two nights, attracted by the amazing reviews. However, not sure if we were just unlucky with the accommodation we were given or if we missed something... Good things first - staff has been absolutely fantastic throughout. At the motel and the pools. Friendly and helpful. The accommodation was a different story - we were greeted by several spiders in each corner with a rather big one just having cought a big fly hanging on the lamp above our heads. We went to reception in order to obtain a broom and insect spray to clean out the room. Overall, the room was very dated and dusty and not pleasant at all. We were considering checking out the same day and move to nearby Hilton but that would have been extremely pricy as we had already paid for the room at DeBretts in advance. As I said, maybe we were just unlucky as some of the reviews talk about amazing, clean rooms. We just didn't see any of that.
  • Nice and clean. and all necessary items in kitchen. Lots of parking. Close to main town centre.
