Mount Paku, Tairua
Categories: Mountains, Nature & Parks
Climb to the peak of Mount Paku, a twin-coned volcano that offers 360-degree views of the landscape and coastline. The hike is surprisingly short for such fantastic views, averaging about 20 minutes to reach the top. Stop for some photo ops and check out the educational displays identifying parts of the panorama and the area's history. The trail can get a little tricky and does not always provide handrails, so remember to wear comfortable shoes with good traction. Arrange your visit to Mount Paku and discover more family-friendly attractions in Tairua using our Tairua tourist route planner.
