Hiking Trail Nature / Park
Walk the steep slope or follow the less strenuous winding trail to the top of Queenstown Hill, also known as the "mountain of intense sacredness," to enjoy a bird's-eye-view of the town, the surrounding mountains, and the lake. Near the top, you'll see a metal spiral sculpture on a stone foundation, called the "Basket of Dreams"--look for the plaque inscribed with a poem from the artist. Refuel at the hilltop restaurant or go carting if you are feeling more adventurous. Note that one of the trails to the top of the hill crosses private land; if you do see some livestock while hiking, keep a respectful distance. • Mum and I hiked up Queenstown Hill on a beautiful afternoon and really enjoyed it. I will say however that this is not for all fitness levels, I am relatively fit and thought it was tough. Definitely ...  more »
  • You can walk around town. There cant be a little tight at the Summit arrive in about 45 minutes. Trekking shoes if you can go in sneakers, I think. Also see very beautiful mountains around the town of Lake from Summit!

  • If so, select the city in peace, and the beautiful city of QueenTown. Because the city is compact in very livable atmosphere. There are many attractions to choose from, such as the small-town atmosphere, retro, ArrowTown. If you want to experience the thrill and excitement it to play obscure cham or hijack a cruise speed in the creeks, thrilling, fun but safe. Steamer cruise on Lake wakatipu to ancient sheep farms and have lunch there. The evening's cable car to play stations and dinner evening with views over the city and see if the time is up, he goes to visit the city and the Lake.

Where to stay in Queenstown

To enjoy views of Lake Wakatipu in a luxury setting, try one of the many boutique and long-established hotels of the downtown area. As a resort town, Queenstown also offers a range of more modest accommodations, ideal for adventurers, backpackers, and those eager to spend more time outside than in. These come in the form of hostels, rental apartments, campsites, and suburban motels. A good local bus service provides connections between the downtown and suburban areas, and out to the surrounding attractions, and many accommodations offer package tours.
