Queenstown Hill, Queenstown

Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web
Walk the steep slope or follow the less strenuous winding trail to the top of Queenstown Hill, also known as the "mountain of intense sacredness," to enjoy a bird's-eye-view of the town, the surrounding mountains, and the lake. Near the top, you'll see a metal spiral sculpture on a stone foundation, called the "Basket of Dreams"--look for the plaque inscribed with a poem from the artist. Refuel at the hilltop restaurant or go carting if you are feeling more adventurous. Note that one of the trails to the top of the hill crosses private land; if you do see some livestock while hiking, keep a respectful distance. • We were advised this walk would be easy, it was not. In our mid 20s and relatively fit and we struggled on this walk - moderate to high level of fitness is required, this was quite a workout
  • The track is long but it is worth every step. Queenstown is a beautiful city and spot-up impresses.
