At Queenstown Garden you can admire the native and exotic plant life, and then play a game of tennis or go ice skating. The garden offers relaxing lake and mountain views from its location on a peninsula of Lake Wakatipu. First founded by the Borough Council of Queenstown in 1887, it has since been an important site for community and sporting events. Athletic types should be sure to make a stop here, where they can play a favorite sport or try something new like lawn bowling or frisbee golf. • It's a pretty park, the view is interesting. The redwoods are imposing and gorgeous in the same time. The ducks are more adorable that in others places and they like when people taken pictures. The night view of the restaurant on the top of a mountain is fantastic, it looks a huge spaceship floating in the air. And the place is great to do a lot of different sports.
  • Definitely a must stop if you visit Queenstown. 5 min or less walk from the Central Business District. Lots of path, walking options to choose from. The path near the lake is beautiful and unpaved--great view of the lake adventures people are having, rocks to sit on. The upper path that takes you to the rose gardens is paved and has a more curated feel.
  • We hadn't planned on visiting this garden..But since we were staying close to it and since its pretty bright till very late in the evening we decided to go.. and believe me it was an experience in itself! There are trees you can climb ..Swing on ropes which have been tied to a few trees..Small streams for water play..and of course just lay back and relax.the lake (beach)is just a couple of minutes from the garden. We ended up visiting it thrice in our 3 nights stay at Queenstown..Awesome experience..Highly recommended especially if u have kids.
  • A beautiful garden next to the Lake Wakatipu. Well maintained and designed with trees and flowers, pond and ducks; bowling club and ice skating area.
  • Excellent option for a walk. But be careful with people playing 'frisbee golf'! There is an area where people play this and sometimes they miss their throw. The flower gardens were very well tended and there were she very large redwoods. While in Queenstown, save one hour or two to walk in the gardens.
