  • Really nice trail - we had a rainy, misty day, which was okay as we didn't overheat going up the hills on the first part of the trail. We missed much of the vista, but enjoyed the variation on the tra...  more »

  • Had an Epic ride yesterday. Did the entire track in 9 hours including a lunch break. 83km. Started at Barryville Road through to Ongarue stock yeards... I have above average fitness and thought if we left a couple of hours earlier we would have had time to have a swim and read the plaques along the way. We had a deadline to catch a ride back on the shuttle so last half was a bit of a rush. I wouldn't recommend doing whole track in one day unless you are up for a challenge and reasonably fit. The day was extremely hot too which made the last 10km extremely challenging. I drank 2.1ltrs of water and could have done with more. All in all, loved it and all the beautiful forest and streams. Didn't see much in the way of distant scenery as not really many clearings.. Highly recommend doing the first half from Barrysville Road.
