Truman Track, Punakaiki
(4.8/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
At Truman Track, let the path guide you down to the picturesque bay on the Te Miko coastline. The 20-minute walk takes you through lush rainforest and past sublime banks of flax, while information panels tell you the history of the area and highlight particular geographical and natural features. Guide ropes and signposts make for a gentle and safe walk up to the jagged coastline, and a staircase gives access to the pebble beach at the foot of the impressive limestone cliff. Adverse weather conditions can make sections of the path slippery, so take extra care when walking the route on such days. Plan your visit to Truman Track and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Punakaiki tourist route planner.
