Trek through a fascinating landscape of steep ranges and native vegetation at Manawatu Gorge Track. Admire striking scenic views of the river, railway, reserve, and windfarms from five viewpoints along the way. Also keep an eye out for native wildlife and a carving of Whatonga, a celebrated 12th-century Maori navigator. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and perhaps carry a walking stick to navigate the steep sections of the trail more easily.
