Where to stay in Tongariro National Park

The few accommodations within the park itself cluster around Route 48--the main road leading into the protected area--and consist of a campsite and two well-appointed alpine-style hotels. If you can't find a room there, look just outside the entrance to the settlement of National Park, offering a selection of mid-range and luxury mountain lodges on Route 4. Most of the options there offer free parking and complimentary breakfast.
