  • This is more than just visiting the Kiwi House for their feeding. There are many birds located here, an enclosed aviary. Some reptiles, fish. Nice nature area.  more »
  • This was probably the best thing i saw in New Zealand. We happened to show up right before the 3pm daily kiwi worm feeding and lecture. I just fell in love with the feisty little critter that i now be...  more »
  • Other then that we really wanted to see a kiwi bird, this place does not offer much. It's close to other attractions like the glow worm caves, so a combined visit will be fine. We spend about an hour ...  more »

  • Visited in February this year, and were the first people to go through the new kiwi house! We really enjoyed it, and wished we had been able to spend more time here. Staff are fantastic, displays great. Was fascinating watching the kiwis up close. Amazing to see their personalities and habits. Thank you!
  • Amazing time spend with Atu 1 of only 3 big spotted kiwi's in captivity. Great collection of NZ geckos. NZ falcon and other birds. Had great fun looking for the weka that keeps hiding. Paradise ducks - love watching them up close . Black teal, grey teal. Kea and Kaka. Bird lovers paradise. All and all money well spend.
  • Watching the bird feedings and learning about the birds was very fun. We even got to see the kiwi being pretty lively and learned about their conservation efforts. Fun and informative experience with many more birds and creatures than expected!
  • It's awesome just make sure you turn up when the kiwis are being fed. They are elusive and hard to spot when it's not feeding time.
  • Nice place to view a Kiwi, if you are lucky. Probably best to go around feeding time.
