Monkey Island, Orepuki

4.4
Monkey Island offers lovely views and good photo opportunities. Accessible by foot during low tide, the island served as a traditional lookout point for the local Maori, who spotted whales from there. Be sure to check the tide table before crossing to the island, or you'll have a wet journey back to shore. Put Monkey Island into our Orepuki online travel planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.
