Obsidian Vineyard
Tour visit a sustainable winery and sample some of their delicious products at Obsidian Vineyard, a small but charming vineyard on Waiheke Island. Spread out over 10 hectares (25 acres) of rolling hillside in the Onetangi Valley, the terrain enjoys special conditions that yield small yet intensely flavored batches of grapes. Friendly, helpful staff guide you through a tasting of six wines, with choices including cabernet blends, chardonnay, merlot, pinot gris, rose, Syrah, plus the vineyard's proprietary innovations in tempranillo and Montepulciano. Plan a trip to Waiheke Island easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

I have stopped here twice on my wine tour and i also brought my family here. Wine is very good, reasonably priced. Staff is always very willing to chat about the wines. Overall not as busy as some of ... more »

This is a winery that the larger tour groups will not likely include. It is a delightful stop and you'll find quality wines that have received excellent recognition. The setting is delightful and the ... more »

We are in the wine industry in Oregon and know a superior wine when we taste it. Bought a bottle of Syrah but will order more and have it shipped. Just days before harvest but they were attentive and ... more »

Look fancy or don’t go. Went in casual clothes since, you know, that is comfortable at the beach. Got treated much different than all the other patrons. Also, the reviews I’ve read said you receive 5 tastings but we only received 4. We bought a bottle and then the same bottle was cheaper at the wine store up the street. Wine was good, but the treatment not so much. Definitely don’t buy bottles at the winery.

Great small place to sample some wines. Staff were very passionate about the wine and told us some great facts along the way of the tasting. Really great. We walked away with two bottles. Prices of the wine are also very affordable. Nice setting with good views of the vineyards.

My favourite Vineyard on Waiheke. It is small but a lovely place and in my opinion had the best tasting wine! Will definitely be going back.

Great tasting menu, very reasonably priced and excellent staff who engage with the customers. Best wine tasting experience on the island
-
Good whites and a nice rose, great reds, really super lovely people, nice outdoors seating and a cute winery dog to boot! What's not to like? $10 per person tasting, refunded if you buy a bottle.
