#5 of 58 in Outdoors in Rotorua
Experience life on a New Zealand farm, learn about traditional farming and herding skills, and meet the friendly and cuddly animals at Agrodome. Founded by world-champion sheep shearer Godfrey Bowen back in 1971, the 160 hectare (350 acre) complex serves as both a popular tourist attraction and a fully operating sheep and cattle farm. From the shows displaying various sheep breeds and the clever herding dogs, to the shearing museum and animal nursery, the farm showcases all aspects of rural living in New Zealand. At the farm's kiosk you can find freshly brewed coffee and a selection of snacks. Several ticket packages are available, which you can purchase online. • Good for city kids who know nothing about agriculture. Loved the sheep dogs, sheep-shearing demonstration and other displays.  more »
  • We did the show and farm tour (one hour each) $68 per adult. The show was entertaining, but not “must see” and the farm tour was very basic (sheep, deer, alpaca, cow - nothing you can’t see anywhere e...  more »
  • We did the farm show & farm tour combo today and it really was worth every cent you pay! The show was so hilarious and entertaining! My daughter was thrilled to be picked to volunteer for the cow milk...  more »

  • Sweet place. We were the only English speaking patrons there during our visit so we got to have our own private tour! Pretty nice of the staff to do that. The animals, the tour guide, and the scenery were all 5/5. Would definitely recommend!
  • The Farm Show is very well organised and rehearsed. The Outback Tour on a Buggy is absolutely fantastic for teenager boys...even parents! There is something for everyone in the family.
  • From Japan:) Very very lovely place. We enjoyed sheep shows and the farm tour.
  • Great fun at the farm show. The animals were great to watch. The presenter was a good laugh! Was a tough crowd to work with since some had trouble understanding what he meant but he managed to work the magic anyway. Didn't get around to doing the back country or farm tour. We brought the farm and rainbow springs package. Although I would probably say I wouldn't visit rainbow springs again as it's not really worth the time.
  • Place for : educational purposes Ever see sheeps, lamb, llama? How about touching or petting one? You can experience all of it by visiting agrodome and even can feed them all these mammals by hand here. This place is really great for families, delivering those tight package of educational facts in a really fun performance for everybody especially kids. Be sure to check the official website for the each tour packages they offer before you come. But whichever package u take will worth every penny you spend for the educational purposes for your beloved families.
