(4.2/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Experience life on a New Zealand farm, learn about traditional farming and herding skills, and meet the friendly and cuddly animals at Agrodome. Founded by world-champion sheep shearer Godfrey Bowen back in 1971, the 160 hectare (350 acre) complex serves as both a popular tourist attraction and a fully operating sheep and cattle farm. From the shows displaying various sheep breeds and the clever herding dogs, to the shearing museum and animal nursery, the farm showcases all aspects of rural living in New Zealand. At the farm's kiosk you can find freshly brewed coffee and a selection of snacks. Several ticket packages are available, which you can purchase online. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Rotorua holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Agrodome and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • just amzing display of all varieties of sheep and sheep dogs, the sheep shearing display is superb. the dogs steal the show with intelegent display.
  • The show is very informative and amusing, the animals look happy but I think they would rather do what differently. To see how a sheep is shorn is very interested but also somewhat brutally looks... The show is to join and there's many highlights. At the end of the show you can pet the animals on stage and also in the area with the juveniles. This is real however, there 6 small lambs were very nice and about 10 people tried to touch all and many have also picked up the animals and previously pushed in the corner... Also the subsequent fram tour was very interesting, one drives through the fields and stops again to feed and stroke the animals. There are sheep, cows, alpacas and also bouquets, ponies, and much more. In between a stop is placed in a small cup distributed kiwi juice and honey to try you can also buy these in one of the 2 Soveniersshop. Complete is a worthwhile visit. Very important: are for the show at places aux jacks installed for different languages (also German) therefore necessarily even headphones bring you can there unfortunately no rental or buy.

  • Unforgettable experience! Friendly staff! We had the privilege to have Scott, who demonstrated shearing sheep which was awesome. Especially coming from Hawaii, we definitely don't see that. So that was awesome. Scott was very engaging and funny. Scott also demonstrated herding with his assistants Spark & Blue who were just incredible. It was awesome to witness. Shanel was our guide around the farm and that was another highlight. Especially being able to feed the cows, sheep and deers straight from your hand. In Hawaii we definitely don't see many of these animals so it was a memorable experience. Mahalo Nui Scott & Shanel 🌺
  • The Agrodome makes for a good 3 hour visit where the major attractions are: The Sheep Show & The Farm Tour. There are discounts available through agents and hotels, so don't miss out on that. On the sheep show, you can see the different types of sheep and also witness a live sheep rearing & cow milking session. Lots of photo moments up for shooting there. On the farm tour, you encounter farm animals such as sheep, alpacas, deer and get to even feed them. You can see the olive & kiwi plantations. Overall, it's a really nice place to visit and doesn't take too much time to cover. If you like animals, then you should definitely come here.
  • Was thoroughly entertained. Lots of engagement with the audience and the performances with the farm animals were a delight to watch.
  • Not for everyone, but I liked it. Like stepping back into the 1930's. Fun to see the sheep herded by the dog.
  • Had a fantastic day out at the Agrodome. I certainly didn't expect to be hand feeding cows, sheep, alpacas and lambs by the hundred or picking and eating kiwifruits directly off the vine. The show was energetic and meeting the stars hands on afterwards was a real treat too. Highly recommended to all.
