  • Quiet and serene. However the gardens need a bit of TLC. Lovely setting. Plenty of places to sit and think.  more »
  • Unfortunately not so well maintained and security seems lacking. Children were running free and throwing boulders into waterways and breaking bamboo fences. Unfortunately being an international visito...  more »
  • The entrance to the gardens is beautiful. The remained is ok. Maybe a little ignored as far as maintenance . Worth a look if you are nearby.  more »

  • Step into serenity as you walk through the entrance of this beautiful Japanese Garden. Mind your step as you walk across the pond over stepping stones, watch the friendly ducks. Find your way through all the different paths. Great place for the kids to go rock hunting (like a treasure hunt, only with painted rocks) Bring a picnic, or read a book in the little hut. Every Spring (around the time the Cherry Blossoms bloom) there is a Cherry blossom Festival. There is toilet facilities here which bonus, and picnic tables. No bbqs. You could walk here from the city centre depending on your fitness and Founders Park is just up the road.
  • Miyazu gardens is one of my favorite placed in Nelson. It is beautiful, well maintained, there is restrooms if you are in a pinch and it's wonderful in any season but of course spring is lovely with the cherry blossoms and don't forget to come back a few weeks later when the wisteria alley is in bloom!
  • Really lovely spot but felt a little in need of more care and maintenance.
  • A small but beautiful park in Nelson city. The park has some good places which is photo perfect and there is no entry fee to visit and it is a short distance from founders park and car park is available.
  • Timeless Japanese. Needs a little work done on its overgrown pond weed. I also wanted a tea house.
