  • As a descendant of an early Nelson pioneer it was interesting to see the model boat that early settlers travelled on to Nelson in the 1840's and to see the buildings that were built by them.  more »

  • Interesting snap shot of some local history. Would have been nice if more of the stores were open and actively traded. May be better to come in busy summer times when there is more of an incentive for the stores to be open.
  • A very nice place to have a stroll around. Good range of buildings to look in and at. Nice and spacious and good for kids.
  • Super little open air museum with plenty to entertain and amuse big kids and little ones. The on site brewery/cafe is well worth a visit - lovely brews, good nosh and excellent coffee. There's even a wee small train running on the old train tracks and a superb collection of old pushbikes.
  • People friendly and a market atmosphere. Great spots for meeting mates and good outdoor areas.
  • Many interesting nooks to explore. Nice cafe/brewery too
