National Aquarium, Napier

(3.5/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
Observe creatures of the deep at National Aquarium. New Zealand's premier aquarium displays over 100 different exhibits, housing species from New Zealand and Australia as well faraway seas. Its 1.5 million liter (396,258 US gal) oceanarium draws the most visitors, with an underwater viewing tunnel that immerses you in the habitat of the fish. Make sure to check the hand-feeding schedule upon arrival to avoid missing the sharks and penguins enjoying their lunch. The onsite cafe serves light meals, snacks, and coffee made by qualified baristas.
